STEP 1: INFORMATION GATHERING

We meet our clients where they are; meaning we review and leverage any initial work that has been done to assess what is going on in the workplace that is causing incivility, harassment, violence or discrimination.

The information gathering process may include stakeholder conversations, focus groups, listening sessions and/or surveys.

The information gathering process can be completed in person or virtually.

WORKPLACE CLIMATE SURVEY

Soteria Solutions Workplace Climate Survey is a thorough assessment of the workplace in order to provide actionable data about strengths and assets as well as the prevalence of problematic cultural behaviors and patterns that support inappropriate behaviors.

The Workplace Climate Survey, based on current preventions science and research, is a dynamic survey allowing respondents to define how they identify themselves and respond to questions based on that identity.

The Workplace Climate Survey is designed using Navigational Identities, a new and innovative concept that Soteria Solutions developed. Navigation Identities is based on the premise that a healthy workplace is one in which everyone, regardless of identity or experience, is encouraged to perform to their fullest potential, is empowered to report and address problems encountered and feels supported to do so.

Respondents are asked to select the identities that are most salient to them including sexual orientation, gender, identity, race, age, caretaker status, veteran status, disability status and political views/affiliations.

The Workplace Climate Survey includes eleven sections and is administered via Qualtrics, an online survey platform.

Results of the Survey:

The survey results provide insightful information on how different identity groups experience a workplace environment. Specific output includes:

  • Workplace strengths are captured

  • Positive experiences to build on are highlighted.

  • Comprehensive prevention strategies are identified

  • Response strategies are identified

  • Organizational framework solutions are noted (e.g., policy changes)

Once solutions are implemented, it is recommended the Workplace Climate Survey is re-administered every two years to measure progress.

 
 
 

STEP 2: CUSTOM WORKPLACE CURRICULUM

We leverage the information gathered to then develop a customized curriculum that includes scenarios and examples relatable and recognizable for the audience. Language is selected to represent the organization and its cultural norms and relevant organizational materials are incorporated into the curriculum including, but not limited to, organizational charts, data, logos, imagery and photos.

 

Two Options for Training

Workplace Training on Customized Curriculum

Soteria Solutions trains the Workplace on the custom curriculum.

60 minute all hands session and then multiple 90 minute breakout sessions (# of sessions is dependent on total audience size)

Training includes:

  • 2 scenarios customized for your Workplace
  • Customized tip sheet and infographic to reinforce key messages.

Evaluation Report includes evaluation of the training in general and specifically by breakout session and will summarize the level of skills and knowledge gained from the training plus recommendations.

Workplace Train the Trainer and Customized Curriculum

The train the trainer option enables your Workplace to have up to 25 members trained to then facilitate the roll-out of your customized curriculum.

Four hour virtual session led by two Soteria Solutions trainers with an additional Soteria Solutions team member providing all setup, support, and programming services.

Training includes:

  • 2 scripted Facilitator Guides
  • 2 scenarios customized for your Workplace
  • Customized tip sheet and infographic to reinforce keymessages.

Evaluation Report includes post-training survey results summarized from participants completing a brief on-line training survey. The report will summarize the level of skills and knowledge gained from the training plus recommendations.

We have developed our Workplace Bystander Intervention offerings leveraging decades of bystander intervention research. Our solutions for the Workplace are developed based on the community of responsibility model teaching bystanders how to intervene safely and effectively

 

Flexible Solutions for Your Workplace

 

Workplace Bystander Intervention Overview

This virtual workshop defines Bystander Intervention, explores the underlying research and social norms and examines how bystander intervention impacts workplace culture. Includes Q&A and workshop survey. Ideal for a leadership team, board of trustees or conference break-out session.

Duration: 60 minutes; virtual workshop led by a Soteria Solutions trainer.
Up to 30 attendees.

Workplace Bystander Intervention
Skill Building Training

This virtual workshop includes the content covered in the Overview workplace plus a scenario customized to your workplace. This workshop includes bystander intervention skill building including breakout sessions and polling to encourage attendee engagement. Custom resource sheet developed with available resources provided.

Duration: 90 minutes; virtual workshop led by two Soteria Solutions trainers.
Up to 30 attendees.

Workplace Bystander Intervention
Online Module

This online, interactive module is custom developed to evaluate participants’ understanding of bystander intervention messaging. Online modules offer the ability to reach large audiences including employees, contractors, staff and management via a client’s Learning Management System.

Similar to the Workplace Climate Survey, the bystander intervention online module accounts for a survey participant’s identity to build knowledge and skills to safely and effectively intervene. Branding options are available and pricing includes licensing of the custom module.

Duration: online module is approximately 20 minutes.
There is no participation limit on the online module.
