Angela M. Borges

Angela M. Borges, PhD, is a Practitioner Fellow for Prevention Innovations Research Center (PIRC) and a Lead Trainer and Curriculum Development Specialist for Soteria Solutions. Since its inception in 2003, she has been a co-facilitator and lead trainer of new facilitators of the "Bringing in the Bystander" college program. She has been involved with adapting the program to meet the needs of new communities and organizations, including non-profit organizations, colleges and universities both in the US and abroad, as well as the US military. Formerly a domestic violence victim advocate, she also holds a PhD in Counseling Psychology from Boston College. In addition to her work at PIRC and Soteria Solutions, she works as a Licensed Psychologist providing integrative social justice-oriented psychological services in the Boston area and is involved in the supervision of psychologists-in-training at Simmons University Counseling Center. Additionally, she has worked as a consultant to non-profit organizations on diversity, equity and inclusion. She has published articles in peer-reviewed journals on the topics of sexual assault prevention, innovative domestic violence interventions, the intersection of domestic violence and poverty, the intersection of poverty and mental health and social justice training for psychologists. She is also a proud mother of two children.
