Virtual Office Hours for High School BITB License Holders – Off to a Great start!

The first Virtual Office Hours Event was a big success!

Caroline Leyva, Director of Curriculum Development and co-author of Bringing in the Bystander® College and High School Prevention Program, led the Office Hours and answered questions and provided insight to assist with facilitation questions.

The topics and questions discussed in the May Virtual Office Hours included:

  • Module 3 and the post-it note community activities in Module 3 and how to respond when students go to the opposite community.

  • How to respond when students say they will react with violence

  • Rolling out the curriculum in general and the learning objectives of each module if you are just getting started.

  • Ideas for ways to present/use the worksheets: one option discussed was to have the students draw their answers, making it more inclusive for students where English is not their first language or for those having difficulty reading or writing.

Would you like ideas on how to customize BITB for your high school?
Could you or others in your community benefit from a refresher on facilitating the training?

If you missed our inaugural May Virtual Office Hours, no problem!

We offer all current Bringing in the Bystander High School license holders the opportunity to join Virtual Office Hours scheduled each month.

You are invited to attend regularly or to participate when you can, to ask our lead trainers questions about implementation or to listen and learn from other BITB high school license holders.

Join any or all virtual sessions for:

  1. Learning trauma-informed facilitation skills.

  2. Strategies for adapting BITB High School to unique school cultures.

  3. Understanding the facilitation and adaptation of the BITB High School curriculum.

  4. Practicing bystander intervention strategies.

  5. Learning from other attendees.

Our next Virtual Office Hours Event for BITB High School license holders is Wednesday June 28, 2023 from 12-1 pm ET. To register, click here.
